What does the Bible say about Health Care?

Jesus in Mark 14:7 said the poor will always be with us.

However, in the Jewish Torah it says you will have no poor.

Why is this?

If you live healthy like the Bible says then the community should have resources for everyone to have enough.

Get it, church based health clinics.

But you can't drug or smoke or do dangerous sex.

It wouldn't be bias, they just give you cash for not drinking or not smokeing or being celibate then the next thing you know your premium is cut in half.

Who decides who is denied health care?

The free market decides who gets health care in one way or another.

If we give health care to one and all it will colapse the economy.  Then most people won't have access to most health care.

So you see the free market decides it either way.

And right now we have a mix of free market and socialism.  Do you really want only the government to decide what health care you are given or denied?

For example, I as a vetran have free health care because my income is so low.  I get free eye glasses.  I get free prescriptions.

But the government denies me certain things.  I can't get my hemroids banded because for some strange reason the VA only does hemroidectomies.

Or, sometimes the doctor decides to deny care.  When was volunteering at the VA the were debateing a prosthetic device for someone who seemed to be too old for it to be worth while.

We don't have to be like Britain or Sweeden.  We are what we are and can tweak the system.  But a major overhaul would be foolishenss in my opinion.

Finally, Jesus said that the poor would always be with us.  In other words there will  always be some people who lack some health care.

In a free market some people lack health care.

In socialism everyone has it but it isn't that good.  The free market in socialism denies some care to everyone.

In communism the free market denies pretty much all medical care to everyone.

The Old Testament says that if you don't give part of your income to God you will have holes in your pockets (Habakkuk chapter 1).  We don't pay money Rome or Mecca, not even to Jerusalem.  But I think this still applies to Obama who won't pay the God of the Bible proper respect.

We will have holes in our national pockets till he acknowledges the God of the Bible.

What to do about Salvation

Instead of it being by your own good works you will see that in the Bible it says God wants to be the hero and save us.  All we have to do is admit we are sinners and recieve what Jesus did on the cross for us 2000 years ago.  Then God's righteousness is credited to our account.  Otherwise, how would you know if you were ever perfect enough to go to heaven.

This is probably the one main this evangelicals have in common and that differentiates us from liturgical Christian traditions that baptize babies for salvation.

We believe that it needs to be an adult or a child who understands salvation enough and prays to ask Jesus to come into their heart.

If you want to be saved reading the book of Romans or the Gospel of John is a good place to start.

Genesis 15:6 says that Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.

Salvation by faith is not new.  It is Jewish and goes all the way back to Abraham.
